Some of us journal to manifest. Some of us journal to survive. Most of us are doing both on the same Tuesday.

Scrap Spells was born from a hard season — the kind that sends you back to things you'd set down years ago. For me, that was creativity. I'd spent two decades being busy in the way that women get busy — work, family, obligations that expand to fill every hour — and somewhere in there, I stopped making things just for me.

Then life got heavy enough that I needed somewhere to put it. So I found my way back to the page. Not just writing the way I used to — but cutting and gluing and layering and feeling. Junk journaling, creative journaling, the kind that sounds chaotic and is. That's the whole point.

I've kept journals and scrapbooks for twenty years. Not just the pretty kind with color-coded tabs, though I love those too. The kind where you drag something out of yourself and stick it to a page so you can finally see it. The kind where the right image next to the right words does something therapy takes three sessions to reach.

Yes, there are crystals involved. No, I'm not going to defend that.

The stickers I needed didn't exist. So I made them.

Scrap Spells is for women who use their pages to feel, not just decorate. A little goth, a little witchy, the kind of honest that makes people slightly uncomfortable at dinner parties. Good — because the women I make for have been through things, and their journals should show it.

I'm Gillian. I live in Brooklyn, NY with my husband and two dogs, a Boxer named Zelda and a Boston Terrier named Pancho. I make everything here. And if you've ever described yourself as emotionally supported by stickers — hi. Whether you know my story or not, I made these for yours.
